This gage works like a digital micrometer with a rapid retract. The rear anvil is stationary while the indicator has a quick retract lever. Some standard features include an adjustable rear stop, a stainless steel part rest, and interchangeable tips.

The part rest is threaded and can be screwed up or down. There is also a stop plate on the rest so that it can only be moved to .050" below centerline of the tips. There is also a thumbscrew to lock the position of the rest. There are also a total of three holes where the rest can be used depending on the travel of your indicator.
